The founding story

"From a very young age I was captivated by design, but life pushed me in a different direction. Although I qualified for some of India’s top design colleges, financial constraints meant I had to support my family instead. I spent a decade in the corporate world, learning how to build brands for others while quietly nurturing a dream of creating something of my own.

After years of saving and countless experiments, AMODHA Designs became that dream. What began as an idea born in a tailor’s home in Muzaffarnagar has grown into a studio where 20+ skilled artisans handcraft functional art for your home. Each piece reflects the journey that got us here – resilience, respect for craft and a belief that timeless design belongs to everyone."

AMODHA Designs began in 2019 as a small venture crafting bespoke furniture for local clients. To support nationwide shipping and strengthen customer confidence, we formalised the business as a Limited Liability Partnership in May 2025. Our LLP structure and GST registration under the Indian government demonstrate our commitment to transparency and compliance. We hold valid PAN and TAN numbers and our LLP was registered by the Registrar of Companies, Central Registration Centre, Manesar.

Our Craftsmanship

Our pieces are designed to celebrate the beauty of natural materials and the skill of Indian artisans. Each item is thoughtfully crafted in our workshop, combining traditional woodworking techniques with modern, functional design.

Materials & Techniques

We work primarily with sustainably sourced teak and pine & other woods and occasionally incorporate hand‑woven cane, brass accents or powder‑coated steel. Our artisans hand‑sand, polish and finish every piece to achieve a smooth, durable surface. We favour matte finishes that highlight the wood’s natural grain, and we avoid mass‑produced veneers or particleboard.

Every design is prototyped and refined to balance form and function. We release a new catalogue annually, and our latest 2025 range introduces pieces with gentle curves, cane details and modular elements to suit modern Indian homes.
